President Boakai Warns against Corruption in His Government as He Launches Performance Management and Compliance System!

Monrovia, Liberia – October 30, 2024.
Liberian President, H.E. Joseph Boakai, has issued a firm warning against corruption in his Government at the launch of Liberia’s Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS), declaring that “abuse of public trust will not be tolerated.”

President Boakai emphasized his government’s commitment to accountability and transparency, stating that PMCS program will help eliminate inefficiencies and corruption in Liberia’s public institutions.

The PMCS sets performance targets and enforces accountability across ministries and agencies, ensuring leaders deliver results.

“No one is above scrutiny and no performance will go unmeasured,” President Boakai stated at the official launch of PMCS at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

The Liberian Leader added that the system will ensure a crucial step in rebuilding public trust and enhancing service delivery.

Addressing recent corruption allegations circulating in the media within his government, President Boakai called for actions based on facts, not rumors.

“We will not allow social media to dictate our process or serve as a battleground for settling scores,” he said, while stressing that due process would be upheld in all investigations.

The Liberian Chief Executive further disclosed that the PMCS aligns with the Boakai-Koung’s ARREST agenda—which is focused on Accountability, Responsiveness, Efficiency, Sustainability, and Transparency.

The ongoing program brought together several heads of agency, Ministries, and international partners like the UNDP, embassies, amongst others.
The President concluded by urging public servants to embrace the system’s principles of service and accountability.
